System Administrator

Role Overview:

The System Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of all the company’s installed systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure

Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools

Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes

Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

Provide 2nd and 3rd level support

Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

What you should have

Must have 2-3 years experience as System Administrator or similar role

Good people skills with technical and non-technical users

Positive attitude, patient and determined to resolve issues

Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately

Good communication skills – both written and verbal

Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively

Adaptive with a security conscious mind-set

General understanding of networking and the OSI model

Basic understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP

Mobile device knowledge

Creative problem-solving skills

Demonstrate a willingness to advance your technical knowledge and skills

Bend, lift and carry equipment as needed

Knowledgeable in windows and *nix servers

Knowledge in cloud and on premise infrastructure is a plus
